FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
A QUICK GUIDE
We want your time in St. Louis to go as smoothly as possible! To help make that happen, we've answered some of the most pressing questions here.
BEFORE YOU ARRIVE
WHEN SHOULD I RSVP?
Kindly reply by May 18th. You may RSVP here using our online form. If you have any technical difficulties, please reach out to us here.

CAN I BRING A PLUS ONE?
Your invitation will specify who is invited. If your invitation says "and guest," then you may bring a guest of your choosing. If not, we request it just be those listed on the invitation.

ARE KIDS INVITED?
We love your kids - we really do - but we want our wedding to be your night off! In order to ensure this evening is one of distraction-free festivities, we kindly request this be an adults-only affair. Older children will be listed on your invitation if invited.

ARE THERE HOTEL BLOCKS RESERVED?
Yes! We have reserved rooms at the Union Station Hotel, which is where our reception will be held, as well as at the Ritz Carlton. Please see this page for more details and booking information.

WHERE ARE YOU REGISTERED?
Thank you for thinking of us! We have registered at several stores, which are all consolidated on our Zola registry. You can access the registry here.

If you do wish to grace us with a gift, we kindly ask that any gifts be shipped to Houston in lieu of bringing them to the St. Louis events to mitigate logistics challenges. Our Houston address should be the default for all gifts listed on our registry.

WHAT IS THE DRESS CODE?
On our wedding day, black tie attire is requested, but not required. Please wear what makes you feel great!
For gentlemen, tuxedos or dark suits are appropriate. For ladies, long gowns, evening separates, or formal dresses are appropriate. As you are selecting footwear, note that our wedding day will be entirely inside, so your stilettos will be safe!
Most importantly, please note that our ceremony will be held at the Cathedral Basilica and appropriate attire is required. Please aim to have your shoulders and knees covered during the ceremony.

WHAT IS THE WEATHER LIKE IN ST. LOUIS IN JUNE?
There's a saying, "If you don't like the weather, wait 10 minutes." That can hold especially true in the early summer. Average June temperatures range from 64* to 85*. While we have our fingers crossed for mild temperatures and sunshine, we may get heat or rain. If we don't get lucky, good news - all parts of our wedding day will be held indoors where it's 72*!

WHEN SHOULD I PLAN TO ARRIVE IN ST. LOUIS?
Please check out this page using the login information on your invitation to see the itinerary for events! This will provide a schedule for everything to help you plan your trip accordingly.

AT THE WEDDING
CAN I TAKE PICTURES AND / OR POST TO SOCIAL MEDIA?
Absolutely! With one exception - the ceremony. Given that this is a religious sacrament, we want to honor that moment with a strict no-phone policy while in the church. (Plus, our photographers will have it covered and we want to see our guests' faces, not their phones, in the photos!)
Once the ceremony is over, all is fair game! Please use the hashtags #TaleAsOldAsTimte or #KatesMikeneticAttraction to help share all the pictures in one place. PS: We have a little bet for which hashtag will get more posts, so snap away!

WHAT TIME SHOULD I ARRIVE AT THE CEREMONY?
The ceremony will begin promptly at 1:30 - the church is very strict on this. To ensure enough time to arrive and be seated, we recommend planning to arrive by 1:00. Transportation will be provided from the Union Station Hotel. Please gather by the Market Street entrance beginning at 12:15 for bus pick-up.

WHAT SHOULD I DO BETWEEN THE CEREMONY & RECEPTION?
If you wish to relax, please take the opportunity to return to your room at the Union Station Hotel before heading downstairs to celebrate. If you wish to explore, please see our Destination page for some inspiration on what to do in St. Louis. Remember to plan your return to make it back for cocktail hour at 5:30!

WHAT TIME WILL THE RECEPTION BEGIN?
The reception will kick off with cocktails & hors d'oeuvres at 5:30. We will then transition to dinner and dancing at 6:30. For more details, please click here.

WHAT FOOD WILL BE SERVED?
Entree selections will be included for each guest on the RSVP form. We have also included a space for you to let us know if you have any specific dietary restrictions.

WILL THERE BE PARKING OR TRANSPORTATION AVAILABLE?
Due to parking limitations and alcohol service, we highly encourage you not to drive. We have arranged a shuttle that will transport guests to and from the Cathedral Basilica and the Union Station Hotel. Please gather at Union Station's Market Street entrance at 12:15 for departures to the ceremony. Additionally, rideshare options like Uber or Lyft are readily available in the city.
If you do decide to drive, parking is available. At the ceremony, parking is available at the rear of the church, to the west, or on the street. At the reception, you may valet. If you are just staying for the reception, this is free of charge. Overnight valet will incur a charge of $45. There is also self-parking available ($35) at the garage, though it is a bit of a walk and much less convenient.
